Gathering Together at the Sanctum

The Chakra-cuterie fundraiser “…was such an incredible time with some really great friends,” beamed Everth Sanctum owner Jess McCarty,. The Sanctum is a curated metaphysical shop at 21st and Sheridan in Tulsa. “I was so happy to be able to host a fundraiser for one of my favorite retreats.” Oklahoma Beltane Festival & Retreat is made possible by the hard work of its board of directors and department heads. Fundraisers like this one help fund their yearly gatherings.

Plating the Rainbow: Food Magic with Mendi

OK Beltane festival director, Mendi Kellner facilitated this fundraiser. Naturally, her food-magic skills were on full display in a spread both delicious on the tongue and pleasing to the eye. A rainbow of foods covered the Sanctum’s back counter. For example, there were red tomatoes, and sliced oranges shining next to golden cheeses, yellow peppers, and broccoli. Blueberries, grapes, crackers, creamy dips and coconut were plated in a stunning rainbow.

Mendi encouraged guests to select from each color group; and pointed out the information cards at each platter. Specifically, the cards explained the associations between the foods, and their corresponding chakras.

Tending the Energy – Layered Medicine

Guests happily partook of the abundance, as Mendi introduced each course. With every bite and sip, we explored the connections between the colorful foods and tea blends and their support for corresponding chakras. “Self-care isn’t just about feeling good in your own skin,” Mendi explained. “It’s about tending your inner flame so you ca n actually bring light and presence to the village circle.

When you weave hands-on Reiki with the earth magic of healthy food, custom herbal teas, and intentional energy, you aren’t just pampering yourself. You’re layering up the medicine to truly heal from the inside out. A community grows deeper and stronger when the folks around the fire are balanced, clear-headed, and nourished enough to bring real spirit to the gathering.”

Herbal Allies: Intentional Tea Pairings with Tauna

OK Beltane assistant director, Tauna Mann, served a supporting tea blend for each course. From her, we learned that a bright chamomile base can lend confidence to the solar plexus chakra. A butterfly pea flower base eases truth for the throat chakra, while a fragrant lavender base helps unlock intuition for the third-eye chakra. The full seven tea blends are now available in bags and refrigerated bottles at the Sanctum. Proceeds from their sale will also support the Oklahoma Beltane organization.

When I asked about her inspiration, Tauna smiled, “My journey with chakra work showed me how vital energy stewardship really is. When seeking energetic allies, turning to teas was instinctual after years of personal blending. I wanted something that bridged practical herbal magic with simple ritual—blends that can do deep energetic work while still being a joy to brew. I am excited to bring these small-batch blends to OK Beltane and share their chakra support.

Nourishing Connections: the Power of Community

Because the food and drinks combined to make a meal that was an entire restorative experience, we left with more balanced bodies through mindful consumption, and community ties. “What really stood out to me was the connection that happened between everyone,” said Jess. “We started with the chakra system, but the conversations naturally went so much deeper and touched on so many different things. There was something really beautiful about being able to sit together in such an intimate setting, share food, stories, ideas, and just genuinely connect.”
